CG Spectrum's Director of Game Development Scot Bayless checks in with former CG Spectrum students Kai Moosman (Game Design) and Daniel Radschun (Game Programming), founders of game studio Mirebound Interactive, about their forthcoming game Causal Loop, a first-person puzzle game with a unique approach to gameplay and narrative.
This conversation traces Kai and Daniel's journey, from meeting each other while working at Blizzard in the mid-2000s - where they worked on titles within the Starcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch franchises - to enrolling as game development students at CG Spectrum, to finally launching their indie game studio together.
We discuss the challenges they faced during the development stage of Causal Loop, including their approach to creating intricate gameplay systems and overcoming the inevitable obstacles of game dev. They also shed light on how their time at CG Spectrum and working with industry veterans influenced their creative process.
