Tuition reimbursement
Are you working in a related field? Some employers have money set aside for professional development. Ask your supervisor or HR department if they would consider covering part or all of your tuition.

Potential tax write-offs
If you’re already working in the industry, you may qualify for an education deduction if your study is work-related. This could include refresher courses, courses on current developments, and academic or vocational courses.

Tax laws differ greatly depending on the country or region you’re from, so talk to a tax professional to see if you’re eligible.

Important note: This section is for informational purposes only. You should ALWAYS consult a certified tax professional in your country or region before making tax-related decisions.

Private student loans
Talk to your bank or private loan provider about financing options.

Government assistance or grants
Many countries and regions offer government assistance or educational grants for continuing education and professional development. Try searching online to see if you qualify for any educational grants in your city.

For example, if you are in Canada, see if you qualify for the Registered Education Savings Plan and The CST Advantage.

If you have any further questions about financial aid, please email hello@cgspectrum.com.

We accept payment through PayPal, direct bank transfer, or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Google Pay, and Apple Pay are all accepted).

Please note that there will be a 4% surcharge for using PayPal and credit cards.

DEGREES & DIPLOMAS

How FEE-HELP Works

All CGSI-accredited courses offer government-assisted FEE-HELP to eligible students. Here’s a summary of how it works:

  • Applying for FEE-HELP: You apply for FEE-HELP directly through CGSI (eligible students only) once you've been accepted into one of our accredited courses and are enrolled in eligible units of study.
  • Compulsory Repayments: Any amount borrowed (covering all or part of your tuition fees) does not have to be repaid until you have graduated and are earning above the government-set threshold. Repayment is handled through the tax system based on your income, as determined by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • Voluntary Repayments: You can make voluntary repayments anytime without penalties to reduce your debt faster.
  • Indexation: FEE-HELP debts are subject to annual indexation to account for inflation and changes in the cost of living.
Our 2024 fee schedule is available here.

Eligibility Criteria for FEE-HELP:

  1. Australian Citizenship or Permanent Humanitarian Visa: To be eligible for FEE-HELP, students must be either an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa.
  2. Enrollment in an Eligible Course: Students must be enrolled in an accredited higher education course at a university, or other approved higher education provider that offers FEE-HELP.
  3. Meet the Citizenship Requirements: If a student is not an Australian citizen but holds a permanent humanitarian visa, they need to meet the requisite residency requirements set by the Australian Government.
  4. A Unique Student Identifier (USI): Students must have a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) to apply for FEE-HELP.
  5. Eligible Unit of Study: FEE-HELP is available for individual units of study that are part of an accredited higher education course. Students must be enrolled in at least one unit that is eligible for FEE-HELP to access the loan for that semester or study period.

Eligible students can apply for FEE-HELP for any of our accredited degrees and diplomas offered through CG Spectrum Institute. See full list below:

Degrees:

  • Bachelor of Animation & VFX
  • Bachelor of Digital Art
  • Bachelor of Game Development

Diplomas:

  • Diploma of Animation & VFX
  • Diploma of Digital Art
  • Diploma of Game Development

To apply for a FEE-HELP loan, you will need to submit an eCAF (electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form) before the census date for your course or unit (link to pages with census dates). Your eCAF invitation will be emailed to you prior to the commencement of your course or unit. If you do not submit this form before the census date you will not be eligible for a FEE-HELP loan.

Applicants will need a tax file number (TFN) and a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you don’t have a TFN, you can apply for one from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) (add link). To create a new USI or find your existing USI, you can visit the USI website.

Intending undergraduate students should note that taking out a loan through the scheme also incurs a 20% loan fee for each unit covered. Postgraduate students don’t incur the loan fee.

For more information about FEE-HELP and eligibility criteria, please check the FEE-HELP Information Booklet or visit the Australian Government Study Assist website.

To apply for a Commonwealth-supported place (CSP) and/or Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) loan, you must submit an electronic Commonwealth Assistance form (eCAF), called a Request for Commonwealth Assistance form by the census date.

When you enrol in your course, your provider will ask how you want to pay for your tuition fees. This is where you notify them you want to use a HELP loan. Your provider will issue you with an invitation to submit your eCAF. eCAFs are only available from your university or higher education provider.

Your provider may set an administrative date that is before the census date. This is your provider’s deadline for you to complete certain requirements, such as submitting forms or finalizing payments. However, your provider must allow you to submit your form right up until census date.
